He grinned at her when she poked his stomach. He yawned too. “Alright, sounds good.” He looked over her face for a moment before placing his lips to her forehead. “Night Al, if you need me you know where I’ll be.” He smiled before calling George into his room. “I’ll leave the door cracked, if you feel the need you can come crawl in bed with me.” He shot her another quick glance before closing the door, only leaving a 4 or 5 in gap. |
“On second thought…” Jason teased back, laughing and grinning himself. He smiled, “I’m glad to have you around, Al. I sorta, kinda, missed you too.” He pushed her shoulder playfully. “I’m sorry things have been such shit for you, maybe it’ll get better.” He smiled, hopeful. He didn’t like seeing her so upset. |
“Oops?” He muttered carelessly. He listened closely as she spoke. “I hope the meds work too.” He shrugged, “Don’t worry about waking me. It’s really not a big deal.” He smiled, hoping it would comfort her. He really didn’t mind, he sort of hoped staying with him might help. He felt the urge to invite her to sleep in his bed with him, hoping that maybe being with someone else would help, but he decided against it. It would be extremely dumb of him, she just vented to him about the mistakes she made and he wasn’t about to make her feel uncomfortable. “Yeah sure, you can cook if you want.” He smiled again. |
Jason shrugged, “Whatever.” He chuckled to himself a bit. “I don’t know, I just — It’s like a room I can lock myself in to escape. If I’m outside of the room, I have to think about it or do it or whatever.” He nodded when she said she had everything. “Ah” He mumbled when she mentioned the nightmares. “I’m sorry to hear that, I’ll wake you in the most gentle way I can. Do they happen a lot?” He wondered walking back toward the living room. |
“Um, neither.” He answered with a laugh. “I’m more of an X-Men dude, honestly. I do like how cool you sound when you say you have a ‘bat cave’ though.” He shrugged. “My ‘whatever’ is a room where I can just go chill. I have my PS3 and my xbox in there. Along with my guitar and a mini-fridge filled with beer. I just go in there to escape. I could lay on the couch, watch movies, play video games or read. I don’t have to think about papers or any of that bs. Maybe I’ll let you in sometime.” He grinned at her. “Do you have your clothes and stuff?” |
Jason remembered hearing about the shooting while he was away. “Wow, I just miss all the good stuff don’t I?” He shuttered a bit. “I don’t like the sound of that.” He muttered under his breath, “you’re pretty safe here…” He quickly changed gears to keep up with Allison. He gave a quick nod and started down the hall. “We’ll go from back to front, sound good?” He asked pointing to his right, “coat closet” he announced, he walked a foot or two before pointing to the left “bathroom and next to the bathroom is the linen closet.” He swung the door open, “Towels in the middle, comforters on the very top and sheets on the lower shelf.” He closed that door and walked down the hall a bit more, pointing to the right again. “Spare room” he informed her before continuing down the hall, “my ‘whatever’ room” to the left then they reached the end of the hall and there was one door left in front of them. He pushed the door open and flipped on the light, “My room.” He said before flipping the light off and closing the door back. Any questions about that part of the house?” He asked turning to her. |
Jason sat back on the couch, relaxing into it. He placed his hand on her knee, “no problem” He told her smiling before retracting his hand hoping the physical contact wasn’t awkward. “I have a spare room” he told her. He continued to watch her carefully, he was growing more and more worried the more she said. He promised both her and himself he wouldn’t pry. He wanted to know, what if something happened and he didn’t know. He shook the thoughts from his head and focused on the change of subject. He smiled, “you were an awesome student” he agreed. |
Jason nodded slowly, laughing as he did so. “Yeah, we’re pretty, um, yep. Guys are bad about that, some even have weird men pmsing sessions. It’s a little weird…” He sighed silently, “and my shirt is staying on for the time being.” When she started to speak he looked over to her. “You’re more than welcome to stay here as long as you need.” he smiled, “Spidey too.” He patted the dog on the head. “I said I wasn’t going to pry, so you can just tell me why when you’re ready.” |
Jason searched her face as she spoke. Her voice was steady, slightly surprising him. “So you made a couple mistakes, it doesn’t make you a slut, it makes you a teenage girl. It’s not the end of the world, I know it seems like it.. but you’re human and you’re young, you’re going to fu — um, screw up. Probably a lot. I did.” He pulled his lips into a small smile. “It’s okay to be a mess, too. It happens, especially with women.” He nudged her arm playfully and laughed. “I mean, if you wanna spill, feel free, but I’m not going to pry it out of you.” |
Jason shook his head, brushing off her comment. He couldn’t argue, George was a cool dog. He continued to listen from in the kitchen. “I thought chicks liked ice cream when they were upset…” He muttered somewhat confused, “I think I have some chocolate too though.” He paused, “Wait do you want chocolate ice cream or just plain chocolate?” he asked. He grabbed two glasses down from the cabinet filling them both with ice and water before taking them into the living room and setting them on the coffee table. “You aren’t a slut, Al” Jason said in a serious tone. He looked her straight in the eye, “I mean it.” |
